ABOUT ME
Meet Esther ‘Esi’ Mongo
Birth & Postnatal Doula | Childbirth Educator | Ritual Facilitator
I’m Esther — or Esi — a birth and postnatal doula, birth educator, and the heart behind Mwasi | Mama. My work is rooted in calm, grounded, culturally sensitive care for women and families navigating pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal weeks.
I became a doula after hearing too many stories from women who felt dismissed, unheard, or alone in their birthing rooms. I felt called to offer a different kind of support. One that blends advocacy, compassion, and evidence-based care with warmth and presence. Over the past three years, I’ve been honoured to support many vulnerable women and families, and those experiences have shaped my approach into one that is steady, trauma-aware, and deeply nurturing.
My intention is simple: to support you in feeling informed, respected, safe, and emotionally held throughout your journey.
My Approach to Care
My style is calm, warm and centred around you.
I offer:
Emotional support that helps you feel grounded and less overwhelmed.

A peaceful, steady presence during pregnancy, labour or postpartum.
Advocacy when you need your voice amplified.
Trauma-aware, culturally-attuned care that honours your lived experience.
Whether you’re preparing for your first birth or your fourth, navigating uncertainty, planning a home birth, or choosing a caesarean, I meet you exactly where you are.
